چکیده

Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge (Danshen) is an important traditional Chinese medicine herb. This study aimed to investigate the drought-responsive metabolic profiling in S. using gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-TOFMS) analysis. Fifty day-old seedlings were treated with two (moderate drought, MD) and four weeks (high HD) of withholding water. The leaf root samples prepared for GC-TOFMS Differential metabolites substantial changes content identified multivariate univariate statistics. A total 178 157 annotated detected root, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that significantly discriminant by drought associated “galactose metabolism” “citrate cycle”. In addition, “starch sucrose metabolism”. Univariate statistics succinic acid, d-glucose, oxoglutaric acid was increased (fold change, FC > 1.5). Allose, d-xylose, melibiose, mannose, sorbitol, quinic sinigrin, taurine decreased (FC < 0.67). There different profiles between root. However, influence stress on pharmacological value accumulation bioactive constituents should be further investigated.

Combined NMR and LC-MS Analysis Reveals the Metabonomic Changes in Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge Induced by Water Depletion

Plant metabonomic analysis is essential for understanding plant systems responses to osmotic stresses. To understand the comprehensive metabolic responses of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge (SMB) to continuous and exhaustive water depletion, we characterized the SMB metabonomic variations induced by three different drying processes using the combined NMR and LC-DAD-MS method. NMR results showed that ...

A Dominant Gene for Male Sterility in Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge

A natural male sterile mutant of Salvia miltiorrhiza (Labiatae, Sh-B) was found during field survey in 2002. Our objective was to analyze its genetic mechanism for producing F1 hybrid seeds and to develop a molecular marker linked to male sterile gene for selection of a hybrid parent line. The segregation ratios of male sterile plants to fertile plants in the progenies of both testcross and bac...

Comparative Analysis of the Brassica napus Root and Leaf Transcript Profiling in Response to Drought Stress

Drought stress is one of the major abiotic factors affecting Brassica napus (B. napus) productivity. In order to identify genes of potential importance to drought stress and obtain a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms regarding the responses of B. napus to dehydration stress, we performed large-scale transcriptome sequencing of B. napus plants under dehydration stress using the Il...

Untargeted metabolomic analysis of miltefosine action in Leishmania infantum reveals changes to the internal lipid metabolism☆

There are many theories as to the mode of action of miltefosine against Leishmania including alterations to the membrane lipid content, induction of apoptosis and modulation of macrophage responses. Here we perform untargeted metabolomics to elucidate the metabolic changes involved in miltefosine action. Over 800 metabolites were detected, 10% of which were significantly altered after 3.75 h. M...

Untargeted Metabolomic Analysis of Capsicum spp. by GC-MS.

INTRODUCTION In order to conserve the biodiversity of Capsicum species and find genotypes with potential to be utilised commercially, Embrapa Clima Temperado maintains an active germplasm collection (AGC) that requires characterisation, enabling genotype selection and support for breeding programmes. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to characterise pepper accessions from the Embrapa ...
